S'mores

Sunday, August 30, 2009

I think we all occasionally get caught up in our crazy lives, we take our work (and the stressors that come along with it) too seriously, and we forget what's really important. I, for example, could literally sit in front of my computer for days on end, having no human interaction whatsoever. We all tend to substitute email, and now Facebook, for real human interaction.

That all might be Ok from time to time, but there is no substitution for face to face conversation. My dear friend Patricia told me they were stopping by one weeknight last week. I am so glad they did. We had an impromptu dinner and S'mores on the grill. We got caught up on their recent trip to England and other recent events, and we had a wonderful time. I've know P for 27 years (!!!) and when she left, I thought to myself that I love as much, or even more today, than I did all those years ago.

Who knew that when Ethan asked at the grocery store if we could buy all the stuff to make S'mores, that when I said OK it would be the best decision I made all week. And that taking those extra minutes to hunt down the Marshmallows was soooo worth it.
